February 22, 2017 Newsletter

Parents,

    We want to thank those of you who filled out the parent survey and got those back to us.  It really does help us know what we are doing well and what we need to work on, so thanks.  

    The Great American Hero Biography was due yesterday, so if your child has not gotten theirs in yet, please remind them to get those into their teacher as soon as possible.  We need them to help us write the parts the students will be having for the Famous American program.

    Be sure to read and fill out the Science and Engineering Expo registration form that your child will be bringing home with them today.  He/She will need to sign up for either an experiment, invention, or a research project that they want to do for the Science Expo.  The registration form will need to be turned in by Monday, March 6th.  We will be doing the actual Science Expo on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. The students will present their project in their own classes in the morning.  We will then have students set the projects up in their classrooms from 2:45 to 3:30 for parents to come and view on this same day.  This will just be for the fifth grade students. Students can go home with parents, but they will have to wait until 3:30 to do this.  If you need boards for this project you can purchase them at the office for $5.00, or you can purchase them at WalMart or Joann’s etc. for around the same price.  

    We only have two weeks left until the end of third quarter.  Be sure to check your child’s missing assignments sheet and see if they are missing anything.  All missing work will need to be turned into your child’s teacher by Monday, March 13th.  Students that have all their missing work in and have an 80% or better will qualify for Worker’s Holiday.  The students will be going swimming for this Worker’s Holiday in the morning of March 14.  We need 4 parents,willing to get in the water, to be chaperones for us on this day.  Please let us know if you would be willing to help out with this.  The next printout will be sent home on Tuesday, March 7th.  This will be the final printout for 3 quarter.
