5th Grade Newsletter-January 16, 2019       

Upcoming Events:

• D.A.R.E. graduation will be held on Thursday, January 31st in the gym at 2:30. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend with their student(s).
• SEPs will be held from Monday, February 4th through Friday, February 8th. Your student’s teacher will be sending a schedule home.  Please let the teacher know right away if you need to make a change for your scheduled time. School will be dismissed every day at 2:30, including Wednesday.
• The spelling bee will be held on Tuesday, February 19th at 2:00 pm in the gym. A qualification test will be given in class on Thursday, January 31.
  Students interested in competing should practice for the test

• You Be The Chemist is a competitive science challenge that will be held on SUU campus on Thursday, March 14th. One student from each of the four fifth grade classes will qualify to participate in this challenge. A qualification test will be given on Tuesday, January 29th. There are no study questions available and the test is intended to assess a student’s understanding of general scientific principles.
• The next up-date and newsletter will be on Wed., Jan. 30.
